WHO WE ARE
Welcome to Flat Rock Farm's home on the Web! We are Terry Florence "Mom" and Sunni Florence Milligan "daughter", and together we breed, show and love our large herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats and about a dozen AMHA Miniature Horses. We are located in Azle, Texas, an easy 30 minutes northwest of downtown Fort Worth
HISTORY
Flat Rock Farm was established in 1987, with the purchase of our first Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats from Shaula Parker of Willow Creek. Since then we have become one of the oldest breeders of nigerians in the country. Our goat herd currently consists of roughly 80 animals, several of which are "foundation" stock, with registration numbers in the low 200's. When we began our herd there were fewer than 500 nigerians registered in the USA. We're proud of our heritage and feel that Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats have made tremendous strides over the past few years.
BREEDING PROGRAM
You can see the consistency of our breeding program at Flat Rock. Our animals have a distinctive look about them and can be spotted even within other herds where they have found homes. We are still excited about the potential of this versatile breed and strive to produce a goat that offers an affordable efficient dairy goat that will produce enough milk for your family and can be housed in as small an area as a back yard. Their smaller stature makes them ideal for children to handle, so your whole family can be involved with your animals hands on, and you've never seen anything cuter than a 2lb. baby goat! We also enjoy milking our does and making a wide variety of goat milk soaps and cheeses. Our goal is to produce an animal that truly has it all, exceptional conformation, great udder attachment, superior milkability, friendly temperament, loud color and polled to boot! Whether you are looking for a family milker, a dairy animal, a top notch show goat or a loving family pet we will do our best to match you with the goat that best fits your needs.
HEIGHT GUARANTEE
At Flat Rock Farm we consider the Nigerian Dwarf a true miniature dairy goat, therefore we offer a height guarantee. If any animal you purchase from us measures over the current AGS height standard of 22.4 inches for does and 23.6 inches for bucks we will replace that animal. Most of our animals average between 18 and 21 inches for does and 20-23 inches for bucks.
OTHER GUARANTEES
We also guarantee all animals are healthy and free from disqualifying faults when they leave our property. We guarantee all animals to be fertile and will replace any animal contingent upon receiving a written veterinarian's statement that the infertility was genetic in origin and the animal received proper care. All shipping and other transportation of replacement animals is the responsibility of the buyer. All relevant registration papers and transfers must be returned with the original animal to Flat Rock Farms, unless prior arrangements have been made with us. Since we cannot control stresses that result from shipping an animal, or it's management or environment once it leaves our hands, we cannot offer further guarantees.
